About Me

Exploring Owen Ward's colorful creativity prompts the question, “What am I looking at?” As recent graduate of Appalachian State University, Owen immerses himself in detail-oriented work that embraces the unusual. With a Bachelor’s in Art and Visual Culture, a concentration in Studio Art, and a minor in Apparel Design and Merchandising, he aspires to inspire others to create art that authentically embodies lived experiences. He allows his yearning for new perspectives and experiences to fuel his creative process.

Using alluring color schemes, Owen enjoys experimenting with various mediums and styles, drawing influence from icons like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and David Hockney. His work often reflects his queer southern upbringing, intertwining personal narratives with vibrant aesthetics. Graduating from the SCAD Rising Star program, he broadened his understanding of creation through experimentation.

 

As the owner and content creator for The Boone Barbies LLC, Owen inspires others in the south to embrace authentic, queer-centric creativity. Grateful for the support of his family and friends, he remains committed to making the world a more colorful and creative place.
